Promises

Documentary filmmakers Justine Shapiro and B.Z. Goldberg journeyed to Israel to speak with Palestinian and Israeli children between the ages of 11 and 13. They gathered the children’s perspectives on life in a society plagued by violence, division, and extreme religious and political views. This documentary, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2002 for Best Feature Documentary, reaches a remarkable moment when two Israeli children encounter Palestinian youths at a refugee camp.
